RUSTY COOLEY’S GUITAR ASYLUM TELEVISION DEBUTS FEBRUARY 5, 2011 The Craziest Place on Earth for the Musically Insane!
HOUSTON, TX IS CHOSEN AS THE 1ST MARKET FOR NEW GUITAR TV SHOW HOUSTON – January 24, 2011 – Long before the popularity of video games such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band, a television program was being plotted to showcase the world’s best guitarists.
Rusty Cooley’s Guitar Asylum TV is the brainchild of Ward W. Bond, CEO of The Whitfield Media Group, Inc., whose film production background includes filming over 1,100 episodes of television programming in the last six years. The Whitfield Media Group, Inc., has chosen Houston, TX Channel 55 as the first television station and market to air a one-of-a-kind television program focusing on the talents of the greatest guitar players in the world. Rusty Cooley’s Guitar Asylum TV will incorporate guitarist interviews from many genres of music. The confirmed lineup includes Jeff Loomis of Nevermore, Gus G. of Ozzy Osbourne, Mark Tremonti and Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge, John Petrucci of Dream Theater, Henry Garza of Los Lonely Boys, Eric Johnson, Peppino D’Agostino, Andy McKee are just a few names who have been filmed for the new show, with many other guests in the works.
Film production has been ongoing by the Whitfield Media Group and is being filmed in high definition. Rusty Cooley will not only sit down with fellow guitarists and trade licks with them, but he will take time to give the viewers a quick guitar lesson (available for download) each week. For all the gearheads out there, guitar tech guru Mike Nedd will be talking guitar gear and tech tips bringing to the viewer top notch equipment from guitars, amps, pedals, you name it, Rusty Cooley’s Guitar Asylum TV will cover it. Special reporting features by Roxy Taylor and Sebastian Van Cooley will be providing stories about bass players, drummers, special interviews with lead singers and special interest stories pertaining to guitar and the concert scene. Rusty Cooley is one of the top 5 supershredder guitarists (7-8 string) in the world and resides in The Woodlands, TX. He is co-founder of Pro Music Instruction and Rusty Cooley’s School of Rock. It is his expertise in the knowledge of playing and teaching guitar that has brought many guitarists from around the world to sit down and learn from him.
Guitarists from beginners to professionals will be able to benefit from his explanations of playing guitar on the show as he breaks down the explanations in an easy to understand manner. The director of Rusty Cooley's Guitar Asylum TV is filmmaker Eddie Middleton of Pumpkin Media. He is paying homage to the B movie style as seen in Machete and the Grindhouse series created by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. Middleton says, “The theme of Guitar Asylum TV will be film in the style of and showcase the horror/exploitation type of filmmaking and each episode will feature a B-movie trailer. The viewers will get more than they bargain for, as the joke around the film set is Get Committed!” Rusty Cooley's Guitar Asylum TV – The Craziest Place on Earth for the Musically Insane!
