After so many years of intense playing finally Rusty Cooley, virtuoso guitar player from USA, released his first solo album with a sound similar to Becker. It isn't a surprise his ability to play the seven string guitar on songs as 'Under the Influence', ‘The Butcher’, ‘The Duel’ or ‘Piece Of Mind’ that you can find also on 'Warmth In The Wilderness’, the second tribute album to Jason Becker released by Lion Music, or the nice run of notes under the influence of Darren Householder and Scott Stine on songs as ‘E.B.E.’, ‘Hillbilly Militia’, ‘War Of The Angel’ and ‘Dominion’, this last song has also a vocal version; the incredible thing is the melodic sense of Cooley and it is showed on songs as 'Dark Matter' and 'Jazzmine's Song'. The CD is closed by 'The Machine' another vocal song where you can see the qualities of a musician with a promising future. Rusty Cooley, when six strings aren't enough. Vote 7 2003 |
