Rusty Cooley's Debut CD

I never liked instrumental albums before but for this album, I make an exception. Ok there are two bonus tracks added on this one but that is not the issue.
As some of you know Rusty Cooley is a gifted guitarist who knows how to make a song without being another Steve or an Yngwie. Jason Becker is one of his biggest influences he said before in an interview but I heard some Randy R and Tony influences too. He has his own style which is something special these days. He is incredibly fast and a true master of shred. His new self titled debut album is a nice piece of work. This album is not only interesting for the guitar addicts among us but also for the admirers of technical (prog) hard rock who are not afraid of pentatonic guitar influences. The tracks on his debut are very energetic and sometimes brutal. To me it is a unique awareness because even after listening this whole album I never had the impulse to eject this album from my CD player. The last two bonus tracks are vocal versions of ‘Dominion’ and ‘The Machine’ Unfortunately the vocalist is not the right one to sing this sort of music. Maybe a Bruce Dickinson on vocals would be appropriate. My last words are for the band cause they proved to be strong enough to maintain the homogeneity of this album.
