Rusty Cooley's Debut CD

Reviewed by: Cyril @ Violent Solutions.

"Yeepee, through Cyril (another reviewer of the webzine), I ve just received a wheelbarrow of CDs of guitar-heroes to review. So today I´ll concentrate on mister Cooley, known principally for his participation on several compilations for speed-guitar freaks and moreover for a tribute to its guru Jason Becker. Here he proposes us his first album, where the young autodidact virtuoso (in a way, like me, but he completely explodes my level :D) leaves his weapons and shows its skills of instrumentalist and songwritter. Although, while sinking maybe often into too much demonstration and a lot of lightspeed shredding, he doesn´t forget to be as most melodical as possible. Thus, each different track has a unique thema well marked and interesting, the sonorities are modern and neo-classic at the same time. Man feels perfectly the assimilated inspirations of Randy Rhoads, Jason Becker, Vinnie Moore and all the great family of the American guitar-heroes which he joins without problem. Finally, this is an album earable by any newby, or any specialist who will not fail to wonder: "But how did he played that?"

Notice at the end of the album, 2 tracks which contain a real singer (maybe a to high voice for me, but well it functions...). Good idea because so we ear more the agressive rythms created by our man (who plays exclusively on 7 strings guitars!!!)

For the guitarists, go on the Website of our man, to find a lot of guitar courses (with video support ), to finish to be impressed ;)
